David R. Ellis wants to commit us to the Asylum on July 15th! However, we won’t be seeing the Snakes on a Plane (review) director’s newest feature in theatres; instead it’ll only be on DVD.
Yes, the film is passing by the multiplex altogether. I am not sure why, but that’s all the better for those of us who don’t feel like taking the risk of ending up in a theatre with a screaming baby or seat kickers. We all can sit in the safety of our homes and watch Sarah Roemer, Travis Van Winkle, Jake Muxworthy, Cody Kasch and Carolina Garcia get cured on the small screen.
The sad news is that this DVD release is pretty bare bones. Asylum will be presented in widescreen with 5.1 Dolby Surround and subtitles. Oh well.
In Asylum we can expect to see: A group of beautiful coeds discover that their dorm was once a mental hospital where unspeakable experiments were performed by a deranged physician trying to “cure” troubled teens. But now the mad doctor’s ghost is back to continue his torturous work…and he’s running out of patients!
