In NYC? See Masters Early!

Masters of Horror, the Showtime series that now has an Emmy, a Saturn Award, three Stiges Marias, and a Chainsaw Award under it’s belt, is one of the most anticipated events of this Halloween season. If you’re not looking forward to the second season (which features returning directors like John Carpenter and Stuart Gordon as well as new faces like Tom Holland and Brad Anderson) there’s likely something wrong with your brain.

Perhaps you should get that looked at?

If, however, you are looking forward to Season Two, you may want to head out to New York City this weekend, because that’ll be your first chance to see two new episodes. The New York City Horror Film Festival will feature the premiere of Tobe Hooper’s “The Damned Thing” (pictured, which is the first ep set to air on October 27th) on Friday, October 20th. Cooler than that, though, is that Mick Garris’ new entry, “Valerie on the Stairs” from a story by Clive Barker, will premiere on Saturday, October 21st, after which Garris will be presented with a Life Time Achievement Award!

There are lots of other good reasons to hit the fest, as well, all of which can be found over at its official site. For more on Mick and Season 2 of Masters, be sure to read my recent interview with the man right here!
