Shock Till You Drop reported yesterday (forgive us we’re a little slow with Fear Fest 2 looming this weekend) that director David Gordon Green has officially taken the reigns on this latest redux.

“These Italian producers came to me about it, wanting to do a pretty amazing, ambitious, artistic (version),” says Green. “It could be pretty wild.”. For more hit up the above link, and keep it right here for breaking news as it comes.

William Forsythe would be the Mother of Whispers.

  • Enraged_Otter

you kidding me the dance academy would be reimagined into a 70’s strip club

“at least Rob Zombie won’t be “reimagining” it”

Aww come on! I am really interested to see what new twists the story could have if the dance academy was run by a bunch of foul-mouthed white-trash sadists.

I’m not gonna bother keeping my hopes up. I’m making it a point to keep very low standards for remakes so that I can get at least some tiny amount of enjoyment.

Bruno gets the Oscar for Lifetime Achievement. 🙂

Bruno Mattei will always be an Oscar winner in my eyes.

It’s going to take a fucking lot of work for this one to top the original, that’s for certain.

    “It could be pretty wild.”

Actually, it could be pretty wild if someone turned down a remake of a milestone film for once. “Pretty wild” is about as possible for this project as it is for Bruno Mattei to win an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay…even if he were still alive.
