Two-time Oscar nominee Roy Scheider has passed away at the age of seventy-five at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas.
While doctors aren’t releasing the official cause of death just yet, it has been revealed that Scheider was being treated for multiple myeloma, a cancer of the plasma cell.
Best known to fans the world over as the incomparable Police Chief Martin Brody in Spielberg’s Jaws, Scheider leaves behind not only an amazing film legacy but a void in all of our hearts that won’t be soon filled.
We here at Dread Central would like to take this time to honor Roy and express our deepest condolences to his friends, family, and constituents.
