Whether or not this will snugly fit within the confines of our genre is up in the air, but A Perfect Getaway, as described by the trades this morning, sure sounds like it’ll appeal to horror fans.
David Twohy (Pitch Black) wrote and will direct the new feature, which The Hollywood Reporter got word this morning will star Timothy Olyphant (Hitman, Live Free or Die Hard), playing a newlywed on honeymoon in Hawaii. What’s supposed to be the happiest time of his life becomes a living nightmare when a pair of killers stalk him and his new wife.
Twohy’s a cool enough director who last dabbled in our genre with the drastically underrated 2002 creepy submarine film Below (pictured), so I’m holding out hope that A Perfect Getaway will have enough genre elements to keep us interested. Stay tune for more as we learn it!
