The Lost Art, Theatrical Run

Good news for those of us have who’ve literally been waiting for years to finally see Chris (I Know Who Killed Me) Sivertson’s adaptation of Jack Ketchum’s The Lost (review).
Not only did Fangoria get the first look at the art for Anchor Bay’s March 18th DVD release, but they also heard from the film’s director that the Bay will be giving The Lost a brief theatrical run towards the end of February.
“It’ll screen in theaters in NYC, LA, Chicago and Austin, TX,” Sivertson told the mag. ”It’s just a handful of cities, but The Lost is getting a theatrical release, which is good, because we spent all this money shooting it on film. It’ll be a nice anamorphic widescreen print, which is how it screened in festivals.”
For those of you not in any of the aforementioned cities, no worries; the DVD will be hitting shelves shortly after anyway. Though there’s nothing like seeing a movie on the big screen, at least the disc will come with some unique extras, including a 20+ minute montage of both deleted scenes and ”weird shit that happened on the set!” Novelist Jack Ketchum (hear his Dreadtime Story here) recorded a commentary for the disc as well, which he also did for the recent release of The Girl Next Door.
