If anyone on the planet is qualified to talk to you about how difficult it is to get a horror channel on the air, it’s me. For about three years it’s been a race to the finish line for several entities to join Monsters HD in our horror-loving homes. Sadly, none has gotten on terrestrial cable yet, but the folks behind Fangoria TV have taken the next step by launching their broadband channel.
Some may be asking, “What is Fangoria TV?” The answer can be found right on their website:
“[Fangoria TV is] an online video-on-demand service with free programming for horror fans of all ages, and a premium service providing uncut and uninterrupted programming for viewers 18 plus.”
So how do ya get it? Just head on over to their site to watch their thirty-minute public beta launch for free. If you like what you see, you can then become a subscriber. Subscription costs are as follows:
A one-month (30-day) subscription is $9.99
A one-year (365-day) subscription is $99.99, giving you two months free
If you order a two-year subscription before October 13 for $181.99, you’ll get five months free and be eligible to win a trip for two to the Fuse TV/Fangoria Chainsaw Awards as well as lunch with long-time editor Tony Timpone.
Leave it to Fango to get the job many have tried, including myself, done at least in some fashion. My hat’s off to you guys. Do us proud.
Fangoria TV will officially start broadcasting four-hour blocks of programming beginning next Friday, October 13th. Click the banner below for more details.
