Cusack’s a Factory Man

John Cusack to start in The FactoryAll right, so it’s a Dark Castle kind of morning, I guess. The Hollywood Reporter has learned that John Cusack just signed on for the psychological thriller (never want to confuse those with “horror” movies, folks) The Factory for Joel Silver’s production shingle.

It really doesn’t sound all that horror, but who knows; Cusack will star as a cop on the hunt for a serial killer with his partner on the streets of Buffalo, NY. When the killer kidnaps his kid, they drop professional courtesy and go all-out to find the psycho.

Australian Project Greenlight winner Morgan O’Neill wrote the script (with Paul Leyden) and will direct, which gives me some hope; at least there’s some fresh blood flowing through this one. Shooting will start sometime in January according to the trade, which means it’ll probably kick into gear once Orphan is all done.

More updates as we get ‘em!
