Who can go out a shoot a fake trailer for a movie that doesn’t exist in a weekend and end up seeing merch for it in Hot Topics stores just over a year later?
Eli Roth, of course.
Via his MySpace page, Roth just formally announced a partnership with NECA to bring Thanksgiving merch to life, starting with a T-shirt and a poster, that will be sold exclusively at Hot Topic. Cause that’s where the kids go, you see … More will be coming, he promises, including action figures if they’re demanded for enough. So I guess that’s up to you guys, eh?
He also said a second Thanksgiving trailer will be a part of Trailer Trash, the fake trailer collection he’s putting together as we speak, and someday it might actually get made into a film. But, much like the entire concept of these fake trailers, could it possibly live up to what the trailers promise? Doubt it.
