Some of you may be thrilled, some of you may be disgusted, some of you won’t give a shit, but it seems a third Jeepers Creepers movie is, indeed, in the works.
STYD got confirmation through various reliable sources of the news, which Bloody Disgusting had posted during the AFM madness but without anything solid behind it. No word on what Jeepers Creepers 3 will be about, but STYD did verify that series creator Victor Salva will both write and direct the third movie and that it may pave the way for a TV series Salva’s working on with MGM and Francis Ford Coppola’s American Zoetrope.
Hopefully the sequel will follow the concept put out there while the second film was being made: a prequel set in the old West in which we learn how the Creeper got his wings, among other things. The fact is, though, we’ve only seen about four days of the monster’s 23-day feeding cycle, so the possibilities for more entries are without limit.
As long as they avoid any mysterious black lady/ghost of former victim who can inform the Creeper’s new prey of exactly what is going on (is mystery such a bad thing?), I’ll be happy. More monsters are never a bad thing!
