Run For Your Lives! They're Coming!

You always hear that if you want to lose weight or get in shape, you need motivation. Something that drives and pushes you to never quit. The reason most never make it? No motivation. I have the cure for that ... the living dead.

Zombies 5K Run for your livesThat good enough motivation for you? How long could you run? What obstacles could you overcome with a horde of zombies grasping at you, their gaping mouths hungry for your flesh? Time to put your money where your life is. Run For Your Lives is a 5k zombie-infested obstacle course race that promises to push you to the limit mentally and physically this fall.

This October 22nd, Baltimore, Maryland, plays host to the first wave of the apocalypse. However, other dates and more locations are expected for 2012.

The race will consist of a 5k cross-country style course riddled with 12 obstacles to navigate. There will be waves of zombies on the course to keep you running, and they will be coming for you. Your goal? Complete the race without being turned.

They are keeping the obstacles secret with clues to be released on the Run For Your Lives Facebook page.

And before you ask, "Slow Zombies or Fast?", they are mum there as well (though I expect a mix of both). With camping, parties, and zombies, this might just be the most fun exercise you will ever get.

Check out the official Run For Your Lives website for all the details, and take a look at the amazing promotional video below.

I prefer weight training with traditional weights or kettlebells. Guess I'll have to wait for the Zombie squat-a-thon.

Still, this is a very cool idea.

I would participate in a flash!
