Max Landis to Pen Frankenstein Reinvention
What's with all the Frankenstein lately? The classic creature is bound to resurface in no less than three projects in various planning stages, and today's news tells us that Fox is looking to add another. Read on for the details.
Max Landis is working on an updated version of the Frankenstein story for Davis Entertainment (to be distributed through Fox). According to Variety: "No director is attached -- or even a front-runner at this point -- though studio is eyeing several high-profile helmers including Paul Greengrass. David Yates ("Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix"). Ron Howard had been circling the project, but it appears he's out, given that "The Dark Tower" is still up in the air and Tuesday's revelation that he's in early talks for Formula 1 biopic "Rush."
That's a lot of talent. This should be an interesting one to watch and you can bet we'll be keeping our eyes peeled for updates. No matter what happens, it will surely be better than this version:
