Horror and college students; two things that go together like peanut butter and fluff. Though we can always hope the next indie horror flick that uses college kids as its central character will be different, it’s so very rare that those hopes are fulfilled.
Perhaps the new film Closet Space will be the one, though. We received word over the weekend that shooting has wrapped on the film, which is the story of some students’ search for their missing professor, a search that uncovers truths the human mind can barely comprehend. Laws of physics are applied and peeled away as the kids get closer to their mentor’s location as well as the hungry things that populate this metaphysical “closet space”.
I have to admit, it sure does sound different. Mel House directed from a script by Jason Stewart, and the filmmakers are making no qualms about calling their work Lovecraftian. Yeah, I’d say so.
