In celebration of the release of I Spit on Your Grave in theaters October 8th, we’re asking filmmakers to submit their best exploitation trailers.
The three best entries that capture the essence of ‘exploitation’ cinema will play before the Dallas premiere of I Spit on Your Grave on September 30th at 8:00 pm at the Angelika Film Center. In addition, those filmmakers will receive a prize pack sponsored by I Spit on your Grave and Texas Frightmare Weekend. The best three trailers will also be posted at the Texas Frightmare Weekend website so the entire world can see your masterpiece.
We're looking for submissions that are over the top, scary, wild, absurd, and freaked out. Any entry will be considered as long as it’s an original work. Live action, animated, stop motion, claymation….it doesn’t matter as we’ll consider everything submitted.
Submissions must be received no later than September 24th, at “ISOYG Trailer Contest, Texas Frightmare Weekend, PO Box 384, Grapevine, TX 76099. All submissions must be in DVD format, ready for presentation in NTSC video. Questions should be forwarded to email@example.com.
I Spit on Your Grave is an unrated remake directed by Steven R. Monroe (interview here) and based on Meir Zarchi’s controversial 1978 cult horror film Day of the Woman aka I Spit On Your Grave. It stars Sarah Butler (“CSI:New York,” “CSI: Miami”), Jeff Branson (“All My Children”), Daniel Franzese (Bully), Rodney Eastman (The Caveman’s Valentine, The Opposite Sex), Chad Lindberg (The Rookie), Tracey Walter (Batman), and Andrew Howard (Luster, Blood River, Pig).
A beautiful woman from the city, Jennifer Hills, rents an isolated cabin in the country to write her latest novel. Soon a group of local lowlifes subject Jennifer to a nightmare of degradation, rape, and violence. Left for dead, she returns for vengeance. Trapping her male attackers one-by-one, she inflicts acts of physical torment upon them with a ferocity that surpasses her own ordeal. When the carnage clears, victim has become victor.
