Paranormal Activity on Its Way? Rumor Addressed.

Wow. What a road. Tonight rumblings began regarding the release of Oren Peli's Paranormal Activity (review here). Some sites are touting a release date as early as September 25th, 2009. Could it be?
It's looking good for the answer to be a much welcomed yes, BUT there's a bit more to things, and nothing is set in stone just yet.
Truth be told these reports are slightly premature. When the official word is ready to come down, we promise you'll get it right here.
In the interim, good on Paramount for being confident enough in the film to apparently forgo the whole remake idea (at least for now) thereby giving Paranormal Activity the chance it deserves to scare the hell out of audiences in its original and truly frightening form.

Lakeshore Taps into TV with Heathers RevivalWe've heard it might be turned into a musical and we've heard more times than we can count that a sequel is coming ... all with no real results ... but finally it looks like fans of Heathers are being thrown a bone with some actual meat on it. Sony Pictures TV and Lakeshore Entertainment have the project in the script stage at Fox with Mark Rizzo tapped for writing duty to convert the film into a contemporary TV series.
God, i can't wait to see this movie. I was starting to worry this one was heading down the "Quarantine" road where i might be forced to watch a terrible remake before getting to enjoy the fantastic original. Hopefully the intel is good, and it gets released and does well enough to merit a wider distribution.

I really can't wait to see this. I'm a sucker for cinema veritae. Give me something shot on a handycam in someone's backyard over overstylized hollywood movies any day.
