It’s been a long road to get Night of the Living Dead: Origins, one of several recent new takes on the classic George A. Romero film, out of the starting gate and into the hands of the general public, but that could soon be changing.

According to Variety the newly formed sales banner Meyers Media Group will handle international sales on director Zebediah De Soto’s Night of the Living Dead: Origins 3D from Simon West Prods.

This announcement came on April 16th following a screening of the flick hosted by West for three dozen buyers at the SoHo House in West Hollywood.

West (director of Expendables 2) is producing alongside Jib Polhemus (The Mechanic), Gus Malliarodakis and Matty Mangone-Miranda. Written by De Soto, David Reuben Schwartz and Warren Davis, Night of the Living Dead: Origins 3D is a motion-capture reimagining of George A. Romero’s 1968 zombie film.

In the film Tony Todd stars as Ben, Danielle Harris as Barbra, Joe Pilato as Harry Cooper, Alona Tal (Jo on “Supernatural”) as Helen Cooper, Bill Moseley as Johnny (reprising his portrayal of the same character in Tom Savini’s 1990 NOTLD remake), Erin Braswell as Judy, Mike Diskint as Tom, Jesse Corti (“Heroes”) as a news reporter and Cornell Womack (Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen) as a no-nonsense New York cop.

Look for more soon. In the interim you can check out some leaked test footage from two years ago made specifically to test some 3D effects work. Once again it is not indicative to the final product.
