C.H.U.D. Lives! New Anthology Novel Coming Via Crystal Lake Publishing This April

Looks like C.H.U.D. is getting its own tribute anthology novel detailing events that occurred before, during, and after the scenes from the original film. These stories will expand the world created by the film and add depth to the C.H.U.D. universe.

It’s based on a classic film, and written from the perspective of professional authors who grew up watching this movie,” publisher/editor Joe Mynhardt says. “Its locations vary from the New York scenes used in the movie (including those claustrophobic tunnels) to the countryside and even aboard a ship off the coast of England.”

He continues: “This book has elements of horror, action, science fiction, and some pretty awesome gunfights. Eric S. Brown came up with the idea and approached the producer. After a long phone call to Andrew Bonime, we got the green light. We even received some amazing behind-the-scenes photos, which you’ll be able to access through an eBook copy of this book. I don’t think I’ve ever read a horror anthology with so much action. It was a fun horror movie and now it’s also a fun read by some great authors.”

C.H.U.D. Lives! includes tales focusing on apocalyptic horror, all-out monster action, underground parties interrupted by uninvited guests, and evening strolls that end in death via some of today’s top horror and sci-fi authors with an introduction by David Drake and compiled by Eric S. Brown. The book also features in-depth interviews with Andrew Bonime (producer) and Parnell Hall (screenwriter).
