Best Horror Christmas Gifts Given and Received – Steve “Uncle Creepy” Barton

There are tons of horror-themed items out there both at retail and on Etsy, but there’s only one that caught my eye that was completely fun, unique, and authentic.

While we were binging “Buffy” and “Angel,” it became clear to me just how deeply my girl Debi’s love for vampires ran. An avid Anne Rice fan, she devours anything of a vampiric nature, except for Twilight, thus proving what refined taste she has. Many years ago I procured for her a vintage hand-carved and made Vampire Hunting Kit that included her very own real “Mr. Pointy” wooden stake, a wooden hammer with which to do the hard-core chest pounding, and of course a cross, some holy water, Eucharist wafers, and even a German prayer to make sure that the undead stay six feet under.

This was the perfect gift for her, and if you have any doubts as to whether or not she’s a slayer worthy of such goodies, you should see her when there’s a spider in the house and she’s on the frontlines while I cower in the corner.

The coolest horror-themed gift I’ve ever received is without question my classic B-Movie monster busts from Executive Replicas. Deb – of course – nabbed them for me, and I’ve been in love with these things ever since. One day I hope to have the entire set, but I’m not sure that Santa deems me having been that “nice.

Below are some of my treasures: War of the Colossal Beast, The She-Creature, Invasion of the Saucer Men, and of course… I Was a Teenage Frankenstein.
