Today we have news via Deadline that the film has just been picked up for U.S. distribution by IFC.

We’ll let you know as soon as we do when there is a release date. Until then let us know if you’re interested in checking out this film in the comments below!

Mary Shelley is directed by Haifaa Al-Mansour from a script by Emma Jensen and stars Elle Fanning, Maisie Williams, Douglas Booth, Bel Powley, Tom Sturridge and Ben Hardy.

The film is produced by Amy Baer, Ruth Coady, and Alan Moloney.

Synopsis:

Passionate and rebellious teenager Mary Wollstonecraft finds a kindred spirit in poet Percy Shelley. Their whirlwind love affair scandalizes polite society, as the young couple gorges on literature and a bohemian life. When tragedy strikes and they lose their baby daughter, Mary finds the courage and bravery to transform her pain into the world’s first science fiction novel, Frankenstein – all by the age of 18.
