Josh Boone May Adapt Stephen King’s The Stand as a Limited Series After Wrapping The New Mutants

One of the most beloved books of our time is Stephen King’s  The Stand. And while IT has been killing the box office, it seems like our big-budget R-rated adaptation is only a short time away from being announced.

And that may have just happened by way of director Josh Boone.

Boone, as some of you may know, was the director signed to write and direct Warner Bros.’ The Stand feature film before moving on to Fox’s The New Mutants.

Now Lilja’s Library reports Boone jumped on the King Board recently and dropped this new info:

“I am still working on The Stand,” Josh Boone writes. “And will be making it next as soon as New Mutants opens in April as a limited series. I’ve been working on it for four years and I promise you it will be a faithful adaptation of the book with an incredible cast.”

A limited series? Sounds about right to me. Especially after King dropped this statement a few weeks back, “There’s talk about doing The Stand as an extended TV series, possibly for Showtime or CBS All Access…”

How excited are you to hear that The Stand may very well become a limited series in the near future?
