Ridley Scott Teases Ellen Ripley’s Parents in His Current Timeline

With both Prometheus and Alien: Covenant out, Ridley Scott is now looking forward at how to bridge the gap between these prequels and Alien, which is where we were introduced to the Xenomorph and the universe of Weyland-Yutani. One of the big questions is will we see some sort of concrete connection to the 1979 sci-fi/horror classic.
In a recent interview, Scott was asked if we would see a young Ellen Ripley, to which he replied that there may very well be something along those lines in the future, although we’re at least two films out from that. But Scott’s idea is that apparently not to focus on meeting a young Ripley but rather to investigate her parents and their story. Color me intrigued!
