Over the past several days we learned that Fox has renewed “Lucifer” and “The Exorcist,” cancelled “Sleepy Hollow,” and has plans to bring back “The X-Files,” which left their remaining genre show, “Scream Queens,” unaccounted for. That changed today with news the network has decided to cancel “Scream Queens” following its lackluster second season.

Per TV Guide, Fox Chairman and CEO Gary Newman made the announcement as follows: “Over the course of the two seasons, it feels like it was a complete story. We have no plans to go back there to tell more stories.”

Ryan Murphy’s anthology series starred Emma Roberts, Lea Michele, Abigail Breslin, Billie Lourd, and Jamie Lee Curtis. The show earned a straight-to-series order back in 2015 but was never a ratings hit.
