We have some tragic news to report as it’s been confirmed that Charlie Murphy has passed away at age 57 following a battle with leukemia. He died at a New York hospital where he was undergoing chemotherapy treatments.

Murphy is most known for his contributions to the world of comedy. His appearances in sketches on “Chappelle’s Show” are some of the most highly regarded and popular to this day. He was also the voice of Ed Wuncler III on “The Boondocks.”

But to horror fans he is known for appearing in 2007’s Unearthed and also as one of the writers of the 1995 vampire horror/comedy Vampires in Brooklyn, which was directed by Wes Craven.

Our deepest condolences go out to Murphy’s friends, family members, and fans.
