Women in Horror Month

The Soska sisters, Jen and Sylvia, are back as promised with a reminder about their current Blood Drive and a basket full of badass videos celebrating Women in Horror Recognition Month.

From the Soskas:
Happy Valentine’s Day! We wanted to make sure that yours doesn’t suck by releasing a special treat just for you…. and the millions out there that desperately need you to donate blood.

This is Women In Horror Month’s 8th annual celebration. We like to do a little something different and give back in the vein (pun totally intended) of our favorite femme fatales and final girls. We want you to be brave. And bleed for us. Most of us will need blood in our lifetimes and, if not, someone close to us definitely will. There is no substitute for blood. We need you.

Every year we release a public service announcement for Blood Services and American Red Cross in the most unofficial of ways. We may have gone a bit too far with the content in the past (and present), but we know they secretly love it. We bring together a team of talented filmmakers and artists from across the globe to participate and their videos blow us away. This year is no different.

This year we challenged our artists to come up with music videos to our Blood Anthem this year by Kevvy of Fake Shark. The results were NSFW, hilarious, deranged, sexy, and all around awesome. On February 1st we released our collective and sneak preview of what’s to come, but today, it’s time for a full assault.

Some viewer discretion is advised, but I say live it up. It’s Valentine’s Day.

Here are the FULL VIDEOS from our 2017 lineup of feminists and artists. Some folks will be throwing their videos up on their own sites, channels, etc, at some point today, but here is a taste to get started….

“We Need It” by Maude Michaud (60 Seconds 2 Die, Dys-):

“Faffing Can Be Fatal” by Nicholas Vince (Hellraiser, The Night Whispered):

“Sippin’ on Some Syrup!” by Jill Sixx Gevargizian (The Stylist):

“We Need It” by Aleah Anseth (Being Little Miss Risk):

“Brent Ray Fraser – The Penis Painter” available at www.brentrayfraser.com (NSFW)

More artists will be releasing them soon throughout the month! Stay tuned and get bleeding!

ALIEN Day Gets Emotional With This In Memoriam Video

Published

on

As we all know, April 26 is Alien Day. A reference to LV-426, the planet from both Alien and Aliens, today has been a celebration of the 20th Century Fox franchise that began in 1979 with director Ridley Scott and writer Dan O’Bannon’s screenplay. For nearly 40 years, the Xenomorph has terrorized audiences in multiple films, dozens of comics, plenty of video games, and more merchandise than pretty much any home could ever hope to store. But while we flood our timelines with the joy of celebrating this storied sci-fi/horror franchise, we should also take a moment to remember those that we have lost along the way.

It’s with this in mind that Job Willins has created a stirring and beautiful “In Memoriam” for the characters throughout the films whose lives have tragically been cut short either by an alien being or through their own stupidity. Yes, I’m looking at you scientists from both Prometheus and Alien: Covenant.

So let’s bow our heads and lend our thoughts to the poor souls who have died so that Weyland-Yutani’s shares could go up a quarter of a percent.

Nice! Guess Who Replaces Clarence Williams III in Tales from the Hood 2?

Published

Keith David

One of the most underrated horror anthologies out there is Darin Scott’s Tales From the Hood. I love the film and so I’m excited as… wait for it… hell for the upcoming sequel.

And speaking of Tales from the Hood 2, today we have some killer updates in the form of a new behind-the-scenes shot and a new piece of classic casting.

First, we have news that Clarence Williams III will not be returning for this new film (he’s retired from acting) but today we learned via our very own podcast #Brainwaves that none other than Kieth David is taking over the role!

Nice! I’m all over this casting update and I think Keith David is positively going to… wait for it… kill it once the film hits. I mean I would have said that Clarence Williams III was irreplaceable yesterday, but now? You can’t argue with Mr. Keith David.

Next, an image from the film straight from director Darin Scott himself who took to Facebook to post the image below along with the caption: “I just got back from New Orleans, where I shot my latest film. Here is a picture from my seance scene. Time to turn down the lights and turn up the scares!🙂 #talesfromthehood2

Are you as excited as I am for Tales from the Hood 2? Make sure to let us know what you think in the comments below or on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram!

Universal Orlando Unveils HALLOWEEN HORROR NIGHTS House Dead Exposure: Patient Zero

Published

on

A few weeks ago, Universal announced that they would be introducing a Stranger Things maze at this year’s Halloween Horror Nights in their Hollywood, Singapore, and Orlando locations. Today, the Orlando location has revealed another one of their treats – or would it be a trick? – in the form of their haunted house attraction “Dead Exposure: Patient Zero”.

The world doesn’t get any darker. The planet has been infected with the ultimate pandemic. A ghoulish biological outbreak is turning swaths of humanity into a plague of vicious, swarming zombies. In a flash, you’re lost in darkness—but the zombies can still see you, and soon your growing unease will turn to screams and despair. If you’re not already afraid of the dark, you will be.

You can watch a promo video for the house below. If you want to know more about Halloween Horror Nights, check out our write-up.
