After a one-night-only Fathom Events screening earlier this month, Rob Zombie’s hotly-anticipated horror flick 31 gets a standard (but limited) theatrical release on October 21st, just in time for Halloween. But guess what? You don’t have to wait that long, as it’s now available through all the top VOD outlets!

We have two 31 reviews. You can read them here and here. Decide for yourself.

The cast of 31 includes Meg Foster as Venus Virgo; Judy Geeson as Sister Dragon; Jeff Daniel Phillips as Roscoe; Jane Carr as Sister Serpent; Richard Brake as Doom-Head; Ginger Lynn as Cherry Bomb, Doom-Head’s very special friend; Malcolm McDowell as Father Murder, the owner of Murder World; David Ury as Schizo-Head; Daniel Roebuck as Pastor Victor; Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs as Panda Thomas, the manager of a traveling roadshow known as “The Venus Lux Happy Time Fun Show”; Pancho Moler as Sick-Head; Tracy Walter as Lucky Leo; E.G. Daily as Sex-Head; and Torsten Voges as Death-Head as well as Sheri Moon Zombie, Lew Temple, Sandra Rosko, Bari Suzuki, and Devin Sidell.

Synopsis:
From the visionary mind of the man who brought us House of 1000 Corpses, The Devil’s Rejects, and Halloween, comes the horrific story of five carnival workers who are kidnapped the night before Halloween and held hostage in a large compound. At the mercy of their captors, they are forced to play a twisted game of life or death called 31. For the next 12 hours they must fight for their lives against an endless parade of homicidal maniacs.

Of course, if you’d rather go out this weekend, you can do worse than checking out Adam Wingard’s Blair Witch, but if you’re keen on staying home, a double feature of 31 and The Good Neighbor (review) should do the trick. The Kasra Farahani-directed thriller, formerly titled The Waiting, also hit VOD today.

James Caan, Logan Miller, Keir Gilchrist, Laura Innes, and Edwin Hodge star.

Synopsis:
A pair of mischievous high school kids (Gilchrist and Miller) create the illusion of a haunting on an unsuspecting neighbor (Caan). While keeping his every reaction under surveillance, they see much more than they bargained for.
