Set centuries after the human race has been annihilated by an alien incursion, BYUtv’s “Extinct” is the brain-child of Orson Scott Card (Ender’s Game) and Aaron Johnston, and we’ve got the first info today along with casting news. So listen up and read on, lovers of science fiction on the small screen!
Arrow in the Head reports today that Chad Michael Collins (Sniper) will lead the cast, which also includes Victoria Atkin, Yorke Fryer, Jaclyn Hales, Nic Luken, and Matt Bellows. Collins is playing Ezra, the natural leader of the Reborns, a group of humans chosen for de-extinction because of their unique skills and personality traits.
A loving husband and devoted father, Ezra will do whatever is necessary to restore his family and the human race at large. In the series, he and a small group of humans find themselves brought back to life to try and restore the human race and end the alien threat that drove mankind to extinction.
Card and Johnston are producing “Extinct,” which will air on BYUtv. Ryan Little will direct the pilot.
