I’m really pulling for Fangoria Magazine these days. Chalk it up to childhood nostalgia if you want, but some of my earliest genre memories were peeling through the pages of Fango and being absolutely mesmerized by what I saw. Their new magazine layout is certainly a step in the right direction, and that’s not all Fango has up its sleeve.
Today Fangoria launches FrightFest, a partnership with Lightning Media to distribute independent horror films via DVD, Video on Demand and Digital Download. They’ll be bringing us some wicked titles such as Pig Hunt, Fragile, Grimm Love, Dark House, Hunger, Road Kill, The Haunting and The Tomb.
If you stop by the official FrightFest site, you’ll have the opportunity to check out film trailers and other extra material while casting a vote for your favorite film. The winning flick will then go on to receive a big-screen theatrical release in July!
This is some of the coolest news I’ve had the pleasure of reporting on lately. Not only is Fango reporting horror, but now they’re playing a part in bringing the films directly to their audience. Hopefully you’ll all check out the FrightFest website and start voting! I’m casting my ballot for Pig Hunt since you can never have too much hillbilly carnage!
