Horror comedy Killer Friends, from first-time director Zach Noe Towers, is having its West Coast premiere at the upcoming Dances with Films festival so the filmmakers reached out with some info on the quirky short for us to share with those of you who might be attending the fest.

Even if you won’t be at the screening, you can expect to find Killer Friends at other fests around the globe.  Here are the pertinent details about the film.

From the Press Release:
Killer Friends is the writing debut of comedian Zach Noe Towers, who also performs the tasks of producer, director, and lead actor in the short film. Towers’ satirical take on friendship and murder premiered in the filmmaker’s hometown at the St. Louis International Film Festival.

It tells the story of Scott, a very rude, crude, and extremely annoying friend. His roommates have decided to take him on a camping trip. A trip Scott won’t be coming back from alive. What else are Killer Friends for?

“Killer Friends was created as a showcase for myself. I wanted to show the world (especially Hollywood) what I could do. So I sat down and let the ideas fly. I’ve always had a dark sense of humor, and the idea of murdering that really obnoxious friend we all have just really stuck out,” says Towers.

Along with Towers as Scott, the short stars Jenna-Lee Carreiro (Jill), Peggy Sinnott (Heather), and Dave Racki (Bryan). Producers are Towers, Carreiro, Tina Carbone, and Mark Brostoff, with cinematography by James Sielaff, makeup FX by Christina Chapman, editing by Morgan Pritchard, and music by Jasha Klebe.

Killer FriendsDances with Films (June 2-13) West Coast Premiere takes place on June 8th at 5pm at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, CA.  Filmmaker Zach Noe Towers and producer Tina Carbone, as well as co-stars Jenna-Lee Carreiro and Peggy Sinnott, will be present for a Q&A.  Get tickets here.
