Last House on the Left remake director Dennis Iliadis accomplished the impossible in my eyes. He took one of my favorite genre films, albeit one with some very rough edges, and fashioned a wholly satisfying (and grimy) remake that stands as a worthy companion piece to the original. Wondering what Iliadis is fixing his sights on next? Keep reading!
MTV says that Iliadis has recently signed to direct Dead@17, an adaptation of Josh Howard’s comic book series about a murdered teenager turned resurrected hero to combat harbingers of the apocalypse.
“Last I heard, they had attached Dennis Iliadis as a director,” Howard revealed. “And we’ve also set up some meetings at some studios that are interested in it. Right now meetings are taking place with potential writers.” This one is moving along very slowly, but the gears are turning.
Order the complete Dead@17 saga from Image Comics below should you wish to satiate your appetite until its cinematic counterpart gets off the ground. If you’re already a fan, you’ll want to hit up that MTV link for sure to read more about Howard’s latest miniseries, Dead@17: The Witch Queen, as well as his grand finale, which he promises is going to be a lot longer, at least seven or eight issues.
