Strangely enough, the hashtag #DiscoDiedBecause is currently trending on Twitter, and people are humorously chiming in with reasons why the rhythmic dance craze croaked like Nubbins after being run over by the Black Maria. We here at Dread Central have the definitive answer…
Because Chop-Top said so, that’s why! I mean, let’s think back to when he and Bubba we’re stalking Stretch in the studio… it wasn’t the Bee Gees or Diana Ross old plate-head was hankering to hear! It was stuff like Iron Butterfly’s “In-a-Gadda-da-Vida” and the like.
In short… Chop-Top? He knows what’s good! He has discerning tastes! He’s a fuckin’ trendsetter, man! Had he been asking for shit like Donna Summers’ “MacArthur Park,” disco may have lasted a few more years. After all, whatever dogdick left that perfectly good cake out in the rain should just lick his plate.
Remember, kids, when it comes to stuff to get your ass shaking… always defer to Chop-Top!
