Alien: Covenant Casting Call Suggests Many Monsters

Reportedly set 10 years after the events of Prometheus, Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant is set to be the first part of a new trilogy that will eventually run head-on into the original Alien. Cameras will soon roll, and the first casting call has just hit the Net. What can we learn from it, if anything?

We tip our hats to the fine folks over at AVP Galaxy for digging up the casting call, which notes that the production is seeking out people between the ages of 8 and 40 who are “skinny and very tall or skinny and very short, but strong and very physically agile,” as well as “fast in movement.

Specifically, they’re looking to cast “acrobats, dancers, gymnasts, contortionists, and Cirque du Soleil type performers.

The casting call seems to suggest that Alien: Covenant will feature a host of different creatures, as the casting agents are presumably looking for actors/performers to step inside suits of various sizes and bring those monsters to life. I’m really not sure how else one could interpret this information.

In Alien: Covenant, Katherine Waterston will star alongside Michael Fassbender and Noomi Rapace.

Specific plot details for the new film are being closely guarded, but it is believed to follow the crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet, who discover what they believe is an uncharted paradise but is, in fact, a dark, dangerous world, the only inhabitant of which is David (Fassbender), the “synthetic” and survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.

The film is set for release on October 6, 2017.
