Unified Beneath the Shadows

Beneath the Shadows teaser posterGood to see someone moving up through the ranks of Hollywood on their own terms instead of taking the first directing gig that comes along. Jeremy Alter, who served as a producer of David Lynch’s Inland Empire but has been working as a location manager for years on numerous features, is finally ready to take a seat in the director’s chair.

According to Variety, Alter is getting behind the well-titled Beneath the Shadows, which tells of prisoner Robert McMartin, whose seemingly foolproof plan for escaping Bogan Penitentiary with fellow cell mates is threatened by the horrible things that go on in the prison’s basement when the sun goes down. Unified also just wrapped up work on another horror film called XII about a small town jury who now faces the wrath of a man they may have wrongly convicted years earlier. Hatchet starlet Mercedes McNab and An American Crime thesp Nick Searcy star.
