Following in his father’s footsteps, Joe Hill (son of Stephen King) has to date released three horror novels, and Horns was given a feature film adaptation last year. His next book, The Fireman, is due out next year, and it’s likely to make a similar leap to screens. Read on for all the details.

As reported by The Tracking Board, Hill’s fourth novel is currently on selective submission for film and television rights, and Sean Daily is handling the rights through Hotchkiss & Associates.

Set for release next April, The Fireman takes place in a world overtaken by a deadly and dramatic new virus, centered on a young woman who is determined to live long enough to deliver her baby. But when all it takes is a spark to start a deadly blaze, she’s going to need some help from a mysterious fireman.
