Kate Beckinsale has fully come onboard Whiteout according to Variety. The film is set to be directed by Swordfish helmer Dominic Sena, and we first mentioned it to you back here, laying out many compliments in Kate’s lap in the process. Still no call from her, though. But we persevere!
Whiteout will be the first film developed under Joel Silver’s new and improved Dark Castle Entertainment banner, which is trying desperately to get away from their image of stinking up the place whenever they release a new movie. Silver has full creative control over any and all films that are made under the banner, and all of them will fall in the $15-$40 million price range.
For those with short attention spans or who didn’t click on the link above, Beckinsale will play a U.S Marshal stationed in Antarctica who gets on a murder case three days before winter hits, a very tight schedule that forces her to solve the case before the continent is plunged into darkness.
Sadly, such a setting means very few tight vinyl outfits for Beckinsale, but we can dream, right? Shooting on Whiteout is expected to get under way in Montreal this March.
Wonder why the hell you wouldn’t kill if you lived in Antartica in our forums!
