Weird. A mere day after we did a story about the upcoming UK release of Pan’s Labyrinth on DVD (read it here), New Line sends out the news that they have plans in place for a US DVD come May 15th.
Anamorphic transfer, 5.1 surround, all that stuff will be in place, of course, but the features will include commentary by del Toro, a making-of documentary, the featurettes “The Power of Myth”, “El Fauno y Las Hadas”, “The Color and the Shape”, “Pre-Release Making-of” and “Director’s Notebook”, as well as del Toro’s appearance (alongside Alfonso Cuaron and Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu) on “The Charlie Rose Show”, storyboards and galleries.
Spread out over two discs, that’s a damn impressive release from New Line, but don’t be surprised to hear about a three-disc Collector’s Edition if this one sells well. That’s just how they roll.
