Michael Dougherty Gives a Brief Update on Trick ‘r Treat 2

Just because Michael Dougherty is busy with his latest horror flick Krampus doesn’t mean he’s forgotten about Trick ‘r Treat 2. In fact, the filmmaker says the “skeleton” of the follow-up is there, and it will possibly contain four intertwined stories. Dougherty made it clear that folks who haven’t seen the original can sit down and enjoy Trick ‘r Treat 2 without feeling they’re missing something.
Unfortunately, as of this writing, Dougherty doesn’t have a timetable for the sequel, so it’s still unclear when the project will see the light of day. At least we know the director has a few ideas he’s kicking around, which means he hasn’t abandoned the project altogether.
