Patrick Schwarzenegger Goes North and Comes of Age After the Apocalypse

Being a teenager can suck. Now imagine being a teenager during a post-apocalyptic time. Zits, voice changing, and peer pressure don’t seem too bad anymore, do they?
From Emmy-nominated filmmaker Matt Ogens (Confessions of a Superhero) comes North starring Jacob Lofland (Mud, Maze Runner 2, The Free State of Jones), Sophie Kennedy Clark (Philomena, Nymphomaniac), and Patrick Schwarzenegger (Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse, Stuck in Love).
Production is currently under way in Detroit. Chris Walla, founding member and former guitarist of Death Cab for Cutie, will provide the score for the film. Dig on the first two stills below.
Synopsis:
Set in the near future after cataclysmic events, North is a coming-of-age story set against a post-apocalyptic backdrop and tells the story of two teenagers (Lofland, Kennedy Clark) who strike out on a dangerous journey into an unknown new world to find family and ultimately a hope for the future.

There’s New Information About Universal’s DOOM Reboot

Some fresh news about Universal’s Doom reboot has come across our paths that we’re excited to share with you. An anonymous source has told us that Tony Giglio (Timber Falls, Extraction, S.W.A.T. Under Siege) will be directing the film based on a script he wrote. Additionally, we’re being told that Amy Manson (Once Upon A Time, Being Human, The White Princess) has been cast as the film’s lead.
We’ve also heard that Autonomous FX will be doing special effects, makeup, and demon design. The company has worked on such films as Sinister, I Spit On Your Grave, Stan Against Evil, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, and more. However, they will not be doing the actor’s makeup, which is being handled by a different department.
Elsewhere, Variety learned that the film is being handled by Universal’s non-theatrical division Universal 1440 Entertainment, which suggests the film is either going straight-to-video or it could go to a streaming platform, such as Netflix.
Doom will begin filming in the near future in Bulgaria.

ATTACK OF THE ADULT BABIES Comes Home on June 11

I wasn’t too fond of Attack of the Adult Babies when I saw it at FrightFest last year, but as it’s being released on home video in the UK on June 11 courtesy of distributor Nucleus Films, I’m sure it will manage to find a dedicated fanbase. Especially among those partial to toilet humor.
Attack of the Adult Babies was directed by Dominic Brunt and stars Kurtis Lowe, Andrew Dunn, Charlie Chuck, Kate Coogan, Samantha Daniels, and The Human Centipede 2‘s Laurence R. Harvey. As its name suggests, the film focuses on a murderous group of elderly men in diapers, and yes, it really is as crass as it sounds.
Special features will include a making of featurette and a selection of Brunt’s previous short films, and the first 1000 copies of the Blu-ray will feature a slip case designed by artist Graham Humphreys. So if you happen to be in the mood for a film where a person literally drowns in shit, you can pre-order Attack of the Adult Babies on Amazon.
