Originally set to make its debut on March 2nd, it’s been rumored for a few weeks now that the release date for Fox Atomic’s The Hills Have Eyes 2 was being moved around.
Thankfully the change is not as dramatic as some feared and not for the negative reasons most assumed either. For some reason the horror playing field is very full now, and FA wanted to get the sequel into theaters during a week with the least amount of competition possible as well as have more time to promote it.
Today we got word that the new release date has officially been set for March 23rd, 2007, only moving a mere three weeks from its original time slot. The only other film that will be in competition with it will be James Wan’s Saw follow-up, Dead Silence, which may or not be a bad thing for the sequel since Universal likely has no idea what they’re doing with that one.
Look for my exclusive report from the set of The Hills Have Eyes 2 very soon along with a ton of new goodies from the sequel!
