Platinum Dunes’ Satanic Thriller Gets a Name

The long-untitled Satanic project from Platinum Dunes and writer Scott Kosar (The Amityville Horror), which we last told you about “>back here, finally has a name according to the freaks at Sci Fi Wire; it’s called The Sacrifice. Simple, to the point; I like it!
“It is a story about a college girl whose brother dies, and she goes to investigate his death and finds he was into some pretty freaky stuff and wants to get to the bottom of it” Fuller told the site “[In] doing so, she has to see some things that maybe she didn’t want to see. [Things] that are unsettling.”
The Dunes boys will be delivering Kosar’s script to Paramount next week, and Fuller said they’re happy with it. The Wire also reports that following the spring shoot for Nimghtare’s redux, they will likely move on to another original film, The Butcherhouse Chronicles, “Every town has that one scary house that everyone talks about, and it’s about a group of kids, a la Breakfast Club, from different cliques, who all get together and go into this one house, and what happens when they get in there,” They’re hoping to finish up the script this weekend, then it’s just waiting for the time to be right.
Not director’s been hired for either Sacrifice or Butcherhouse, so I’m sure we’ll be hearing about those choices, as well as who will helm Nightmare, very soon!
