The summer may be nearly gone, but HORROR IS ETERNAL!! Monster-Mania 15 is set to hit the tranquil town of Cherry Hill, New Jersey (just north of Haddonfield ... no lie) this Friday, August 20th, running through Sunday, August 22nd.

Monster-Mania stretches its tentacled appendages across the great state of New Jersey once again this coming weekend, converting man, woman, and child alike to the service of HORROR!!

The weekend of March 12-14, 2010, is home to the 14th semi-annual horror con known as Monster-Mania, which goes down in Cherry Hill, NJ. As always, Nomad will be on hand representing Dread Central, and now we have a little better idea of who'll be joining him along with the previously announced Night of the Creeps and My Bloody Valentine reunions.

If you've been thinking about attending Monster-Mania 14 this coming March 12th-14th, then a press release that crossed our desk today might help you make up your mind. Along with the myriad of guests who will be at the show, a special screening will be taking place of writer/director Jay Woelfel's supernatural thriller Closed for the Season.

Monster-Mania 13 may have come and gone, but we have photographic proof of all the shenanigans, hijinks, and murderous highlights! Our key man in Jersey, aka the man with all of the free stuff you look forward to each year, Nomad, was on the scene with his camera and eye for naughtiness.

In the latest issue of Monster-Mania Magazine, a quick conversation with Heather Langenkamp reveals her new documentary I Am Nancy will be a "look back onto her last 25 years as Nancy and the role of A Nightmare on Elm Street in young people's lives."

Just a quick update to our last story on all the bloody goods Dread Central will be bringing to Monster-Mania 13 August 21-23rd! Showtime wanted to jump in and celebrate the release of "Dexter" Season 3, so they've kicked in some DVD sets for our hourly prizes! The set drops August 18th at serial killer loving stores near you.

Man, I really dig this show. Yeah, it takes me between six and nine hours to get there and back, which means I really need to start going down a day early, but it’s worth it to hang out at one of the best-run and most well-attended conventions on the East Coast.

Monster Mania 11 is just around the corner (August 22-24th to be precise) in Cherry Hill, NJ, so it’s time to show you what Dread Central is bringing to the table ... physically more than metaphorically! I keep hearing about Blood Night: The Legend of Mary Hatchet in that strange way that a film’s title will become implanted in your brain without you really understanding why. So I guess it was inevitable we mention it in these pages, eh?

It’s June and here in Boston, it’s really, really hot. I can’t imagine what it’s going to be like come August, but nevertheless I’m looking forward to it cause the best East Coast convention, Monster Mania, just released a stellar guest list for their upcoming 11th show.

I’m not exaggerating when I say that Monster-Mania is one of the best run convention series in the world. I feel that since I cover around 8 conventions a year, I’m qualified to say this! At every show I like to talk to vendors and celebs alike to see who is doing well and what their experiences are like. It’s the suit in me.
