Luke Wilson Joins Cast of ZOMBIELAND: DOUBLE TAP in Mystery Role

When Zombieland 2 hits theaters this October, it will be almost 10 years to the day since we first met “Tallahassee”, “Little Rock”, “Wichita”, and “Columbus” (played by Woody Harrelson, Abigail Breslin, Emma Stone, and Jesse Eisenberg respectively). Even Bill Murray is returning for a cameo. We’ll also be meeting a gaggle of new characters like “Madison” (played by Zoey Deutch) and “Berkeley” (played by Avan Jogia).

Now, Variety is reporting that Luke Wilson has joined the cast of Zombieland: Double Tap, though the nature of the role he’s playing remains a mystery.

Original Zombieland filmmaker Ruben Fleischer, who most recently helmed Sony’s Venom, is returning to direct the follow-up. He is re-teaming with original writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, known for their work on both Deadpool movies. The sequel is currently in production and will be released this October, on the 10th anniversary of the first film.

That’s all the new news we have today, but we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for additional details as they emerge. Stay tuned! You can check out the synopsis and trailer for 2009’s Zombieland below.

Synopsis:
After a virus turns most people into zombies, the world’s surviving humans remain locked in an ongoing battle against the hungry undead. Four survivors — Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson) and his cohorts Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg), Wichita (Emma Stone) and Little Rock (Abigail Breslin) — abide by a list of survival rules and zombie-killing strategies as they make their way toward a rumored safe haven in Los Angeles.
