Studio Wants Liv Tyler for CHILD’S PLAY Reboot?

Recently we passed along the news that Polaroid director Lars Klevberg is going to be helming MGM’s upcoming remake/reboot of the classic killer doll franchise Child’s Play from the producers of Stephen King’s IT.

Plot details remain under wraps but Collider reports the project is “a contemporary reboot involving a group of kids (ala Stranger Things), and a technologically-advanced doll that enters their world.”

And today we have an interesting bit of news (rumor) via That Hashtag Show which says that the studio has interest in Liv Tyler for the role of Andy’s mother Karen.

Again, this is all merely rumor at this point, but the site seems to know their stuff considering they called the casting of Spawn‘s Jamie Foxx AND Jeremy Renner in the past. So I guess we’ll just see, won’t we?

Until then, make sure to hit us up and let us know what you think in the comments below or on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram!

The remake/reboot is set to be directed by Lars Klevberg (Polaroid) from a screenplay written by Tyler Burton Smith (Kung Fury 2) produced by David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith (IT) via their KatzSmith Productions banner. Aaron Schmidt will serve as an executive producer.

Production is set to kick off in Vancouver this September.
