Kane Hodder
When it comes to horror celebrity guest appearances, it doesn't get much bigger than Kane Hodder. Star of an incredible number of horror films including Hatchet, Hatchet II and Friday the 13th VII-X, Kane Hodder is iconic in the horror community. And this is why Terror in the Aisles is so excited to be featuring him as a celebrity guest at its film festival in Chicago on December 3rd.
Recently we published a tribute to Kane Hodder in the form of the highly sought after Doctor Gash's Tip of the Scalpel Award. Unfortunately, in all the excitement of naming Kane as one of the first ever recipients of the honor, I forgot to mention the fact that he is currently on tour to promote his new biography, Unmasked: The True Story of the World's Most Prolific Cinematic Killer, which tells his amazing life story.
Dread Central hit the world premiere of the Chillerama anthology film (review here) at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Hollywood, California, last night and while on the red carpet chatted with the flick’s directors - Adam Green, Adam Rifkin, Joe Lynch, Tim Sullivan - and more before taking in the screening with an enthusiastic and boisterous audience of over 3,000. Read on for Part 1 of our coverage and some ocular candy!
The minutes are ticking away until the 8th Annual Rock and Shock in Worcester, Massachusetts, and updates are starting to come fast and furiously (like an angry greyhound in heat). The festival is scheduled for October 14-16, and we've gotten word of two more guests being added to the already impressive list as well as a world premiere film. Read on, New Englanders. Like having the Red Sox and Patriots dominating their respective sports isn't enough. Now you get the most kickass horror convention in the Northeast as well. Well played, Worcester. Well played.
Who the hell is Kane Hodder? I distinctly remember saying those exact words. Picture it, a young, 14-year-old Doctor Gash. Here I was, not even an intern yet, preparing for a visit to my hometown cinema, The Community Theater, to see Jason Voorhees' newest offering, Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood.
One of the East Coast's premier horror festivals, Rock and Shock, has announced its official ticket release date as well as some major musical acts that will be performing at the event. And you can bet your ass these guys will fit in perfectly at Rock and Shock.
We spend week after week going to the movies. Sometimes we score and end up having a good time, but mostly we're just subjected to bloated Hollywood bullshit. Then it happens we see a trailer for a short film and can't help but think, "Wow. A feature version of this would be so badass." Such is the case with the trailer for No Rest for the Wicked: A Basil & Moebius Adventure.
While I'm not exactly sure what to make of this upcoming horror/comedy based off the bizarre plot synopsis, I can say that it's something I would certainly enjoy seeing. Especially when some really talented genre folk have already signed on.
Arrow Video has announced the UK DVD and Blu-ray Disc release of Adam Green's Hatchet 2 on 29th August 2011. This sequel picks up right where the original ended, and Arrow's release includes a nice package of extras.
Starring Kane Hodder, Antoinette Nikprelaj, Jerry Reid, Maria Hildreth, Paul Elia and Virginia Bryant
Directed by Tommy Brunswick
There's not much information available for Old 37 yet, but what I've seen so far looks very intriguing. We know Kane Hodder will bring his wealth of horror experience to play one of the film's killers, and Brandi Cyrus (that's Miley's big sis) will also appear in the film.
Fans of Kane Hodder's special brand of slasher mayhem need listen up! The man's next film, Exit 33, is quickly coming upon its home video release date via Breaking Glass Pictures, and we have all the details you need right here!
You can put horror favorites Kane Hodder and Leslie Easterbrook in just about anything and we'll watch it. The opportunity to see them together causing mayhem? How could anyone possibly resist that?
From the Press Release
You know what this world needs? More Robin Hood flicks filmed in 3D, with supernatural overtones, and starring Tom Savini with Kane Hodder. How in the world has no one come up with this formula yet? It's just a friggin' no-brainer. Good thing for us it's on its way.
Since its announcement there's been a lot of buzz surrounding the upcoming sequel Hatchet 3. Loads of info has been popping up here and there regarding casting news, etc. So, as a means to get to the bottom of it, we went to the man himself ...
