Just like ours, the Asian culture lives in the sunlit world of what we believe to be ... reality. But there is also -- unseen by most -- a cartoon world. A place that is just as real, where you can sing and take a shit.

Once again Trembles has reached back into the vault for this week's Motion Picture Purgatory, all the way back to 1977 for Nobuhiko Obayashi's haunted house flick Hausu (aka House).

If there's one thing I know for sure, it's that the Japanese love their biomechanical women! Subway Cinema (creator of the NY Asian Film Festival) is also aware of this fact and strives to bring these borderline psychotic movies to the States in the spirit of cultural exchange. To that end, May 18th sees the coming of RoboGeisha!

With a title like Entrails of a Virgin, who wouldn't love this 1986 Japanese film written and directed by Kazuo 'Gaira' Komizu? If ever a flick had Trembles' name all over it, it's this one! And then there's the synopsis: Members of a film crew making a soft core porn are dismembered by a demon in a warehouse.

The two new chapters in the Takashi Shimizu created franchise Ju-On have been renamed for us silly Americans who don't like to think or learn other languages. Brain. Hurt. Words. Bad.

Few films that we cover here at Dread Central seem as crazed as Noboru Iguchi's RoboGeisha so we're pleased to provide both a first look at the new poster and the second trailer for the flick.

Live from the NY Asian Film Festival 2009 at the IFC Center, Tokyo Gore Night proved to be quite the "spectacle", to say the least! Highlights included punishment to the directors for unleashing such mind-boggling films onto the world by way of darts to the ass courtesy of Tak Sakaguchi. Those who toughed it out were seen as true samurai!

Sometimes you just have to let a film speak for itself. Such is the case with Noboru Iguchi's RoboGeisha.
