If there's anybody out in the indie world that sends us updates on their projects more often than the multi-talented Phil Nichols, I don't know who it is. Today he sent over a new batch of stills from Vampire Diaries Renfield, but best of all, they include the first shot of one of the creatures Nichols' Facades FX is doing for the film.
Nothing tickles our fancy (or our naughty bits for that matter) quite like slime does. It's just so sticky! Bio-Slime, however, you may want to see a doctor about. Don't believe us? Check out the final teaser trailer for the flick!
Lizzie Borden took an axe, and gave her mother forty whacks. When she saw what she had done, she gave her father forty-one. And now we might get to see each one of them in gory detail in the new indie flick that's on the way entitled Lizzie: The Movie.
For most of us, other than the spooky ghost who came out of the well in the American Ring films, the only other unnerving bit of the flick was Naomi Watts' son's constant freakiness. Well, the actor who played the little weird kid, David Dorfman, is all grown up now (wow, does time fly), and he's already attending his prom. Of course murderous mayhem ensues.
It's Saturday, March 13, 2010, when Dread arrives to the snowy set of director Elise Robertson's horror feature Donner Pass. Penned by Scott Adams and executive produced by Mouncey Ferguson, who financed the film, the independent feature tells the story of an unlucky group of teens who, while on a ski trip in the mountains around Lake Tahoe, encounter George Donner, an entity with a taste for human flesh, and unfortunately for the group, it's for their own.
For as long as I can remember, the one thing my mom always taught me was to never talk to strangers, especially strangers with creepy vans. Looks like there are a few people out there that still need to learn that lesson as producer Detroit Riot Productions today announced its partnership with visual FX veterans Almost Human for the upcoming indie horror film Creep Van.
Just yesterday I told you about Sickle from writer-director Robert Conway. Not one to rest on his laurels, Conway already has a second film in post-production, Necro Wars. A zombie apocalypse flick with a twist: The hero is a newly zombified soldier forced to choose which side he will fight on.
Blast those scientists always meddling in God's domain. Have none of them read Frankenstein? Now it's stem cells giving rise to an unhappy undead abomination. What have scream queen Tiffany Shepis and Louis (brother of Costas) Mandylor wrought upon us with The Prometheus Project?
Many years ago Richard Diaz started posting on horror message boards along with myself and many others. He was affectionately known to his online buddies as "Gory", and he traveled with us from Fangoria to the place that shall not be named (we wish them well) and now finally to here on Dread Central. His love of horror is pure and as evident as can be, and it's with great pleasure and honor that we debut the trailer for his first indie horror film. Get ready for a look at Distortion!
Even though there are still three weeks to go before Poison Apple Films wraps up production on Vampire Diaries Renfield (for which they've been providing r
When it comes to indie films, it's getting harder and harder to weed out the good titles from the bad. Mainly because there are so many of them. Though despite being lost in an abyss of thousands of low-budget efforts, sometimes a flick with enough enthusiasm will shine through the darkness caused by the massive pack. A film like ... The Landlord.
Some more stills broke free of their restraints for the upcoming chiller Psych 9 (see the first batch here), and of course we have them for you here without all the loonies following you around for a peek.
Phil Nichols, who portrays Renfield in the currently filming Vampire Diaries Renfield, dropped us a line with an update on the shoot and provided us with a batch of new photos to share with Dread Central readers.
Here at Dread Central we love werewolves. Especially the ones who aren't afraid to submit to their animal instincts that go on limb-tearing killing sprees. Yes, those are the best!
That Boggy Creek sorta-remake trailer is not the only new swamp monster trailer to arrive today. Now our first look at Brett Piper's Muckman has arrived and brings with it all the rubber monster-suited b-movie euphoria you could hope for and want from a motion picture about a swampy slime monster run amok.
