Man Has Teeth Unnecessarily Extracted by Imposter Dentist [Horror IRL]

Dentist

A Turkish man recently endured a waking nightmare at the hands of an amateur dentist. BNN Breaking reports that 42-year-old Hakan Yildirim called a dental clinic in Istanbul with hopes of alleviating the agonizing pain he was experiencing when a janitor, who was onsite to clean the facility, answered the phone, posing as a doctor.

Authorities have learned that Cemal Senaslan was the man on the other end of the line posing as a dentist. He instructed Yildirim to come to the clinic for immediate treatment. Upon arrival, Yildirim was told that four of his front teeth would need to be extracted immediately. Yildirim protested, telling Senaslan that he was under the impression abscess teeth weren’t meant to be removed, to which Senaslan replied, “Are you teaching me my job?”

Keen to make the pain go away, Yildirim acquiesced to the demands of the imposter and left the clinic with four fewer front teeth than when he arrived. The imposter charged him a fee of about $35 USD and sent him home with a prescription. When Yildirim stopped to pick up his medication at a pharmacy, the pharmacist told him the script couldn’t be filled because it lacked a stamp of authenticity from a licensed physician.

Upon his return to the dental office for a new prescription, Yildirim met the clinic’s owner, an actual doctor. Practice owner, Ibrahim Levent broke the news to Yildirim that he was duped by a janitor masquerading as a dentist.

Following the extraction, Yildirim received emergency treatment from a licensed physician. He has since experienced severe bruising and swelling. He reports that the worst of the pain took roughly a month to subside.

As for Senaslan, he has been sanctioned to 2.5 years in prison for practicing medicine without a license.
