The Television Critics Association's twice-yearly press tour is currently under way in Pasadena, CA, and on Saturday The CW, Showtime, and CBS shared the spotlight with The Vampire Dairies, fresh off its People's Choice Awards win for Best New Drama, garnering a significant amount of attention. Stars Ian Somerhalder, Nina Dobrev, and Paul Wesley were joined on a brisk 30-minute panel by executive producers Kevin Williamson, Julie Plec, and Bob Levy.
We're still three weeks out from the January 21st return of the CW's The Vampire Diaries, but to help tide you over, we have four new stills from the upcoming Episode 11, entitled "Bloodlines".
We've been touting the guilty pleasures to be derived from The CW's The Vampire Diaries for some time now, but if you haven't yet experienced them, now's your chance. Starting tonight, December 14 (8pm/7pm c), the network will be airing all ten of the episodes shown thus far this season, two each night.
James Remar, who currently portrays the father who knows best on Showtime's Dexter (although he'll always be "Ajax" to me), is about to join another clan as Giuseppe Salvatore, papa to The Vampire Diaries' bloodsucking brothers Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder).
Week in and week out we keep finding more to like about The Vampire Diaries. Whether it's the death of someone we thought was a recurring character or the reappearance of another character presumed dead who's now a vampire, the show never fails to surprise ... and entertain ... us.
It's only Monday, but already our thoughts are turning to Thursday night, and The CW is happy to help us get ready for the latest installments of our guiltiest pleasures: Supernatural and The Vampire Diaries.
Two new webclips for "162 Candles", this week's episode of The CW's breakout hit of the year, The Vampire Diaries, have hit online, and we've got both of them here for your viewing pleasure.
The CW is pulling out all the stops to make sure fans don't forget about tonight's Halloween themed episode of The Vampire Diaries, entitled "Haunted", going so far as to provide two sneak peeks of the show.
If you wrote off The CW's The Vampire Diaries as nothing more than "Dawson's Twilight", then you obviously haven't been watching the show. Stars Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley are hitting all the rights notes in their portrayals of star-crossed lovers Elena and Stefan, and we doubt you can find a villain on TV right now who's more fun than Ian Somerhalder's Damon. So it comes as no surprise that the network has given a full season order of 22 episodes for the series.
Each week The CW's The Vampire Diaries grows on us a little bit more as the plot thickens and we learn the characters' back stories. And this week's episode, "Lost Girls", promises more of the latter as flashbacks reveal why the tensions between brothers Stefan and Damon started. To help whet your appetites, The CW has provided three preview clips.
It's only been on a few weeks, but we have to admit one of our newest guilty pleasures is The CW's "The Vampire Diaries", and the main reason is Ian Somerhalder's flamboyant portrayal of the oh-so-bad vamp brother Damon Salvatore. Which ensures that we'll be keeping tabs on his newly announced involvement in the "Gothic fairytale" Cradlewood.
The jury's still out as far as we're concerned as to whether or not "The Vampire Diaries" has what it takes to catch on with hardcore horror fans, but they may not need us anyway ... The show's first episode that aired last night appears to be The CW's most-watched series premiere ever with 4.8 million viewers (subject to final verification later today).
Those of you who are of a certain age no doubt remember the phrase "Must See TV" and its application to NBC's Thursday night lineup of shows during the 1990's. It's been a while since any other network could make that same claim, but starting this Thursday, September 10th, it's possible horror fans will have their own "Must See TV" night on The CW thanks to the pairing of The Vampire Diaries with Supernatural.
What the hell's with all these diaries lately? Every beastie we've ever loved now has a diary of some sort for us to leaf through. Time for the pretty vamps that make teens swoon and cougars growl to have a shot!
