Anyone else ever catch this show? I was on in the late 80's early 90's when I was a kid. It used to scare the shit out of me. My dad would stay up late on saturdays and watch it with me.....
Friday the 13th was the same. I remember how I thought it would have Jason running around killing people....but regardless it was entertaining...I remember an episode where these two kids got stuck in this crepy fun house...after seeing it I would go into any of those damn things at fairs ect.
Any thoughts? |

I only ever caught the Scarecrow episode of Friday the 13th when I was younger, but do remember liking it a lot. Might get the DVD set at some point.
Monsters was great - stayed up late many a time to see that. The main episode that stays in my mind is the one with the guy being turned into a pig. "He wasn't calling you a bitch! He was calling you a witch!!" Classic. |

I too used to stay up waaay too late in the 80s to watch these two awesome shows. Loved them both, classic classic stuff. F13 I remember best was probably either the dollhouse or the killer bees episodes. Monsters that I remember best was the glimglim alien episode.

I loved F13th The Series when it was on TV.
It aired right after Saturday Night Live where I lived.
I haven't seen this show in almost 20 years and I just got the DVD sets.
I'm amazed by how many of these episodes that I haven't seen.
Robey was a major crush for me on this show. |

Let me just say pick up those DVD's. I appreciate that I'm about to say this to someone named Bone Daddy, but the pilot episode, Robey is wearing a white shirt and I don't think she is wearing a bra.
But seriously the show is still great, and has help up suprisingly well, but I had forgotten the appeal of Robey. If you pick it up you wouldn't be dissapointed.

Yes yes, and for an 80's show she still looks good on it, it's not *too* dated. I remembered liking her as a kid, but I didn't know when I tuned in now that I still would, and I do.
I really liked Monsters also. I recently purchased the set off of iOffer, and it's in great quality and in order, so I've been enjoying it. I love the opening to Monsters, the music and the monster family. It was the perfect companion to Tales back in the day. |

I used to watch both.
I like Monsters more, personally.
They just had more episodes that stand out in my mind than Friday the 13th did. |

| I watched both shows regularly. "Friday the 13th" was good the whole first season, but I began to lose interest during the second season. "Monsters" had some truly disturbing episodes scattered through its Tales-From-The-Darkside-lite run. The "Manikins of Horror" episode (same story from the Amicus "Asylum" movie) was really well-done with some effective stop-motion, and another episode whose name I can't recall ("Scraps"? "Leavings"?) about creatures in subway tunnels made from patched-together chunks of their victims was also great. |

Sometimes it comes on Chiller, and if you want, you can usually find it on the auction site ioffer.
I picked up a set off there and it's was pretty good. |

| I watched both. One episode of Monsters always stuck with me, about a couple on their honeymoon and a giant spider. |
