Toukiden 2 Has Gigantic Demons to Kill

The action RPG Toukiden: The Age of Demons, which was released on handhelds in 2013 before being ported to home consoles, was basically a Monster Hunter knockoff, with Koei Tecmo clearly trying to replicate the enormous success that Capcom had with its series.

And while it wasn’t anywhere near as big as Monster Hunter, the game was still a modest success, selling over 300,000 in Asia alone. So it comes as no surprise that a sequel is in development. And, in keeping with the idea that sequels always need to be bigger and better, the demons (based on the oni of Japanese mythology) are larger and much, much uglier. Check them out in the images below.

Similar to the first game, there’ll be a large open-world component where you can embark on quests and slay the monsters if you so choose. Being a JRPG, expect there to be tens of hours of gameplay on offer, so say goodbye to your personal life.
