Christopher Walken Reading WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE is the Perfect Bedtime Story for Quarantine

Where the Wild Things Are, written and illustrated by Maurice Sendak, is the perfect bedtime story for children stuck in quarantine. It’s the tale of Max, a hyperactive child confined to his bedroom for behaving poorly. But his room becomes the entire outside world, and Max has a fantastic and sometimes terrifying adventure. It’s the perfect metaphor for using imagination to escape boredom and the doldrums.

With truly fantastic illustrations, Where the Wild Things Are is something parents can enjoy as much as their children. So even though it’s over nine years old, it seemed like the perfect time to revisit a YouTube classic: Christopher Walken reading Where the Wild Things Are! Give it a spin embedded at the top of the article. Share it with your kids or just enjoy this mental vacation alone.

What makes this particular rendition of Where the Wild Things Are exceptional is the way Walken describes the illustrations and often offers his personal opinions (“Max is a jerk!”).
